This page is about the Sri Lankan Navy Ship Jetline which was serving as host for wedding parties ets. It has now departed to Indonesia it orignal home forever. The Jetline sailed back on 5th November  to Indonesia and will not return.

The Jetliner has been on lease from an Indonesian company since 2006 and with the lease ending the Navy has handed over the ship back to the owners.

Jetliner has discontinued all operations and will not be undertaking any reservations in future, the Navy said.

During the war in the North, Jetliner played a pivotal role in the naval operations ferrying thousands of troops, civilians and supplies between Trincomalee and Kankasanthurai ports as the ground routes were inaccessible due to the terrorist occupation of the region.

Following the end of the war in May 2009 after the ground routes were cleared, the Jetliner assumed a new role as a cruise ship and it was deployed for tourism purposes under the theme 'Visit Sri Lanka 2011' as a joint venture between Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

Now the Sri Lanka Tourism has introduced it as new venture for the tourist, locals to organize events on the Jetliner the new venture is called ?Jetliner Nautical Enterprise? it has started from 22 January 2010 at the Port of Colombo.

Jetliner was part of 2011 Cricket world cup attraction.

The Jetliner is available as recreational cruise ship, taking onboard weddings, receptions, corporate events, parties and other social functions. The ship is equipped to cater all types of functions and is has highly trained professional Naval crew who are in par with the best in the hospitality industry.

Jetliner Packages

Jetliner Night Package

Hire Jetliner for an evening/night event be it Weddings, receptions, birthday parties and Cooperate events. Jetliner will be docked at port for you for the event while the staff will cater for all the needs of decoration stage chairs etc.

Duration: 5 or 3 hours at along side berth inside Harbor.

Basic cost for 5 Hours for upto 350 Guests - SRs 218,352/=
Basic cost for 5 Hours for upto 350 Guests - SRs 124 789/=

Please note that additional staying chargers along side berth in the Harbor - Rs.32,058/= per hour.

Jetliner "Sunset Cruise" Package

Cruise on the Jetliner and enjoy a wonderful evening with sunset siling. This is an Ideal package for Cooperate functions, Parties, Receptions, Anniversaries and Weddings Total duration of this package is 5 hours inclusive of one and half hours of sailing. Maximum Passengers: 350.

Cost for every additional hour of sailing at 12 knots Speed will be Rs 156,308/=

Jetliner Touching Negambo Package

3 cruise hours at 12 knots Speed from Colombo to Negambo. Maximum number of passengers accommodated onboard is 350 and there will not be any reduction of fare for lesser number of passengers.

Cost SRs 587,592/= Additional hour of sailing at 12 knots Speed will be Rs 156,308/=

Jetliner Cruise to Bentota Package

Tour by Jetliner cruise for 8 hours at 12 knot Speed silt to the town of Bentota and back

Cost Rs 1,299,164/= for upto 350 Pax

Jetliner Day out to Galle Package

This package covers the passage to Galle including return journey to Colombo and possible overnight stay over at Galle Harbour. The Jetliner will sail at its maximum speed & a small snack will be served during the passage. Please note that basic fare does not include other expenses of meals, liquor, other beverages, entertainment and overnight stay at a hotel in Galle etc

Cost - SRs 2,522,490/= + SLPA (Galle) chargers (apporx Rs. 40,000/=)

Please note that cost for every additional hour of sailing at maximum Speed will be Rs 410,738/=.

Jetliner Maneuvering inside Harbour Package

Suitable for Educational institutions, Nurseries, Limited budget groups to get a pulse of Jetliner, view of inner Colombo Harbour and bit of sailing experience.

Jetliner will shift one berth to another or a tour inside the Colombo harbor. Please note that the vessel will not sail out of the harbour

Liquor & other Beverages

There are three Bars onboard, namely Nautique Bar, VIP bar and Star Light Bar. Clients either can purchase Bar items directly from the Bar counters or may request for bringing own spirits and liquor onboard. (Subject to corkage chargers).

Entertainment on board the Jetliner

The Jetliner Nautical Enterprise offers the services of the Sri Lanka Navy Band and Navy Cultural Troupe for entertainment when requested by the client. The details of such services and the associated charges are as follows;
