3 Days Jaffna Tour

Visit the northern most city of Sri Lanka, the ever volatile city of Jaffna. See the effects of war and improvements in the life of people after the war. This is an excellent opportunity to see the Northern Sri Lanka and the post war situation there.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Meet in Colombo airport or hotel, drive to Jaffna via Kandy Dambula and Vavuniya. Its a long 9 hours drive Including Lunch stop. Enroute we will visit the areas with houses still having bullet marks which were fired straight to the houses. We will also see a huge water tank that was brought down by the terrorists. As we enter Jaffna we will see some areas marked as dangeous as they still have booby traps and army is busy in trying to remove them. On arrival in Jaffan check in at hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 01 Morning after breakfast we will take you to the tour of Jaffna city. You will see the train station that was completely destroyed being rebuilt. Even the new tracks are being layed. We will visit some important land marks of the town which show significant progress in the city after the war. We will visit the temple of Sri Naga Viharaya the temple where the sapling of the orignal Bodhi tree were once brought and were placed before going to the Kings palace. We will also visit ]affna Fort Alfred Duraiaappah Stadium — Jaffna clock Tower — Jafina library - High Court — Ariyakulam Buddhist Temple — Nallur Temple — jamunari Bottomless well — Manthirimanai (King Sangilians Palace) . You will then proceed to 0ddtumadam, through Araly Road, Karainagar — Casuarina Beach . As we end the tour we will drive by Mathagal — Keerimalai Tank — Mayettapuram Knathasami Kovil (Historical Temple) — Thellipalai Amman Koyil (Historical Temple) — (huunakam — Kantharoclai and finally through KK5 Road to jatfna University. We will return hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 03 We will drive back to Colombo via A9 Highway.
