Jetliner Cruise
This page is about the Sri Lankan Navy Ship Jetline which was serving as host for wdding parties ets. It has now departed to Indonesia it orignal home forever. The Jetline sailed back on 5th November to Indonesia and will not return.
The Jetliner has been on lease from an Indonesian company since 2006 and with the lease ending the Navy has handed over the ship back to the owners.
Jetliner has discontinued all operations and will not be undertaking any reservations in future, the Navy said.
During the war in the North, Jetliner played a pivotal role in the naval operations ferrying thousands of troops, civilians and supplies between Trincomalee and Kankasanthurai ports as the ground routes were inaccessible due to the terrorist occupation of the region.
Following the end of the war in May 2009 after the ground routes were cleared, the Jetliner assumed a new role as a cruise ship and it was deployed for tourism purposes under the theme 'Visit Sri Lanka 2011' as a joint venture between Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.

Following is normal Jetliner Sunset cruise package details
Book yourself today to be part of the unique adventures. It is perfect for locals as well as tourist.
Total duration of this package is 5 hours inclusive of one hours of sailing. Maximum Passengers 375 including children.
We will pick you up at your hotel at 4:15PM and drive you to the the port car parking from where the Navy car will take you to board on the Jetliner cruise. As you arrive you will be served with traditional Jetliner welcome drinks and you will sail for one hour while there will be live entertainment on board.
As the sunsets into Dusk the staff at the cruise will arrange the Buffet Dinner on board (By Raffles-Colombo 03) as you dine the Jetliner Photographer will take your family photograph which will presented to you as memorable picture of Jetliner when you leave at no cost.
After dinner there will be Entertainment with Dj dance and calypso, for kids there is free face painting and a magic show full of laughter.
